Hi Val! Thanks so much for your comment. Drupal is a great CMS, but depending in how you build your templates there are trade-offs with flexibilty and display. When it's up and running, we'd love to see it! Good luck for a smooth launch!

We just changed our web platform to Drupal and this has resulted in a design that has many locked down sections on our home page due to how the University is approaching ubiquitous look and feel. So we have to make the best use of the spaces that are ours and came up with using the large space at the top for a Features section that a reader can toggle through to additional information. It isn't up yet but we think it will work and help solve the problem of refreshing content within a limited framework. It is def'n a work in progress so I'll share more as it evolves. Cheers, Val

These are great tips, probably for any service not just web design.

I like jing (www.jingproject.com) because it allows people to record video. Video is great because it allows you to see all of the inputs people used to get their output.

There are a ton of ways to track bugs, a simple spreadsheet is probably as good as most solutions. Edit grid (www.editgrid.com) allows people to create really powerful shared spreadsheets. Also unfuddle (www.unfuddle.com)has some pretty good bug tracking / project management tools that they provide with their free account.

That is a great idea. A lot of clients forget that to be specific about what changes need to go where. A URL can really cut down on the back and forth.

Great post!

Another item that goes with #1 and #2 is send include URL's! "Can we get field X added to form Y.", it can save a bit of time (and frustration) for the developer to find (or remember) exactly where form Y is located.

Excellent synopsis of a prevalent issue. If you don't mind, I plan to share this information with clients and colleagues alike.
